Riverdance is here to bring the heat! The traditional showcase rooted in the 1985 three part suite Time Dance, comes to the Paramount Theatre Seattle and it’s guaranteed to blow some minds! It’s the original Irish dance bonanza that has took the entire world by storm. Get set as the talented and skilled ensemble brings forth superb performances led by illustrious director John McGolgan. This amazing performance has been an ongoing spectacle since its first ever high profile showdown at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. Riverdance was originally performed by legendary dancers Jean Butler and the Lord of Dance Michael Flatley. Together with the captivating Irish folk vocal group Anuna, Riverdance took the audience’s breath away.

Director McColgan and his professional dancer wife and Roverdance producer Moya Doherty turned this epic show into a stage showdown. After their 1994 performance the song, “Riverdance,” performed by Anuna and the RTE concert orchestra became a chart topping hit, breaking the record at the time for being number 1 on 18 weeks on the Irish charts. By 1995, Riverdance featuring Michael Flatley and Jean Butler sold out shows across the world, including a four-week run in the U.K. The following year, Riverdance became a worldwide sensation and traveled to New York City. By 1997, composer Bill Whelan had won his first Grammy Award for Best Musical Show. By 2000, the performance had hit Broadway and went to new territories, including China.

This 2025, Riverdance celebrates its 30th Anniversary!
