Yungblud emerged in 2017 with a unique sound – his music contained influences of rock, pop, hip-hop, and alternative elements. This is evident in his first few singles, “King Charles” and “I Love You Will You Marry Me.” In 2018, he released his eponymous debut EP and debut album, 21st Century Liability. Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, followed the releases with a massive world tour. The U.S. leg consisted of 25 dates, and he sold out his shows in Los Angeles, Washington, and Philadelphia.
By 2019, Yungblud seemed to be everywhere on the Internet. He released the colossal hit, “11 Minutes,” with Halsey and Travis Barker. The single peaked at number 5 on Billboard’s Rock charts and topped the Bubbling Under Hot 100 charts. Besides the U.S., the song charted in 13 other countries. In the same year, Yungblud was featured in Machine Gun Kelly’s single, “I Think I’m Okay.” The song was the lead single for Machine Gun Kelly’s fourth studio effort, Hotel Diablo. “I Think I’m Okay” peaked at number 3 on Billboard’s Rock and Alternative charts and number 4 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 charts. Last but not least, Yungblud ended the year with another phenomenal collaboration. This time he performed and released “Tongue Tied” with Marshemello and Blackbear.
Besides collaborations, Yungblud also released several solo hit singles, including “Parents” in 2019 and “Cotton Candy” from his sophomore album Weird!, released the following year. In 2022, Yungblud dropped his most successful studio album to date. The self-titled third effort spawned the hits “The Funeral” and “Tissues.” The album entered the charts in 14 countries and peaked at number 1 in six countries, including the U.K. and Australia.
