Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, producers of Wicked, were motivated by the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West".

This show has been hailed for its expansion of the backstory of Oz, giving The Wizard of Oz fans around the globe a peek into Glinda and Elphaba (later known as the Wicked Witch of the West). WICKED, despite its main characters beginning as enemies, it's a profound tale about acceptance and friendship. With epic costume creation and jaw-dropping special effects, Wicked transports its audience straight to the wonderful world of Oz!

The show first premiered in 2003, thus it is now 21 years old. Since its debut, Wicked has surpassed $1 BILLION in box office sales on Broadway.
