Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the first of the animated superhero film trilogy. Inspired by The Amazing Spider-Man, the story focuses on the 2014 to 2015 comic book storyline, the Spider-Verse. The film revolves around the life of Miles Morales, who’s currently experiencing tremendous pressure from his school and father. As a teenager, he finds ways to cope with the stress, like painting graffiti in an abandoned subway. One day, while he was painting, he was bitten by a radioactive spider. He later gained powers akin to Spiderman. Morales returned to the abandoned subway and discovered an illegally built collider built by Wilson Fisk, the city’s most notorious villain. As a rich man, he hired scientists to create a doorway to a parallel universe where his deceased wife and son were still alive.
With Morales watching, Spider-man attempts to disable the collider, but Wilson Fisk’s henchmen, the Prowler, and Green Goblin, are there to stop him. In the end, Spider-man successfully destroys the collider, but the explosion severely injures him and kills the Goblin instantly. Morales approaches Spider-man and is given a flash drive to disable the collider in case Fisk rebuilds it. Now that city's favorite superhero is dead, will Morales become the new Spider-man? How can a young kid in high school go against the city’s biggest criminal? The film will have plenty of twists and turns as Morales finds his footing as the new Spider-man and meets new characters who will help him defeat Wilson Fisk once and for all! The film’s soundtrack was lauded for its crafty selection of modern hip-hop tracks. The theme song, “Sunflower,” by Post Malone, received wide critical acclaim and definitely helped bring the carefully-curated soundtrack to new heights. The film creators brought the award-winning composer Daniel Pemberton to create genre-defying music. Other artists featured in the soundtrack include Swae Lee, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Jaden Smith, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. This impressive line-up of songs will be complemented by a live orchestra performing in unison with the film’s screening.
