Alexander Hamilton became famous for being the first Secretary of the Treasury in the USA and authored the Federalist Papers. He later died from a gunshot wound he sustained in a duel with the then U.S. Vice President, Aaron Burr.
The action packed story is what inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to create his Broadway masterpiece. From day one in 2015, Hamilton has been universally acclaimed.
Hamilton has a unheard amount of 16 Tony Awards nominations and won 11, including Best Musical. The Broadway sensation, Hamilton, received the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Perhaps the greatest aspect of Hamilton is its ethnically diverse cast. The production aims to cast racial minorities to play white Founding Fathers. Miranda says Hamilton is about "America then, as told by America now." Currently, Hamilton at the Paramount Theatre has cast Trey Curtis as Alexander Hamilton, Jared Dixon as Aaron Burr, Bryson Bruce as Thomas Jefferson, and many more talented ethnic actors.
