Hamilton at Paramount Theatre Seattle

Making its first appearance in in 2015 and running for almost a decade, Hamilton shook Broadway by storm bringing a revolutionary approach. From Ron Chernow’s biography about Alexander Hamilton, it tells the journey of Alexander Hamilton’s early years and journey to one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. This is a profound story that is both creative and clever, Hamilton is still to this day hailed as fearless in its storytelling that has influenced politics, culture, and our youth.

It was created by American composer and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda who is also known for his achievements in both Broadway and film. He went on to compose the score and lyrics for previous Broadway play called "In the Heights", another Tony award-winning spectacle, and is also responsible for the music and lyrics in popular musical films such as Moana. This hit musical, featuring a ethinically diverse cast, has showtunes in a style that mixes new genres like hip hop, jazz, R&B, which has made Hamilton all the more innovative and engaging by showcasing these music genres to the Broadway stage. Songs such as “Satisfied”, “Wait For It”, and “You’ll Be Back”, have become loved by many as top-rated memorable songs from the production since its Broadway release. Lin-Manuel Miranda has attributed his music inspiration for Hamilton came from top rap and hip hop artists of USA, finding a way to marry the different genres together in an unprecedented manner! The showtunes of Hamilton is praised hugely by Washington critics alike, compared to the other Broadway musicals that have been staged, Hamilton continues to be more fast-paced and lively than others.

Hamilton has since gone on to achieve a record-breaking 11 Tony Awards and 16 Tony nominations, Grammy Awards, Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and even a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. So far, Hamilton has achieved widespread success as it continues its worldwide tour, including the continents of Europe and Asia.

Hamilton is now available this winter in Paramount Theatre, the best theater for the arts in Seattle, where former shows have been received incredibly well. Tickets for the Thursday 6th February 2025 show are limited as Hamilton will only be running for a short time in Paramount Theatre during February.
