And make sure to get your tickets now, it’s time to rock and roll!
All of us here at The Paramount Theatre right here in Seattle are so excited to welcome Garbage to the stage as they take on America for their Happy Endings Tour, which follows the release of their newest album Let All That We Imagine Be The Light. They are no strangers to the touring game and are giving America their all with this one - featuring thirty dates and cities across the country, the tour will see the crew hit stops like Nashville, Orlando’s Hard Rock Cafe, a night in Chicago at the end of September, and of course - right here in Seattle at our very own Paramount Theatre. And even more fun - this will be Garbage’s first full solo headlining tour in over a decade, so you know it's not going to be a show you want to miss.
Despite their name and their quirky approach to their music - Garbage is actually quite good, and has the reputation and accolades to show for it over their decades long career. Starting off in the midwest in 1993 and with a self titled debut album just two years later, the group went platinum almost immediately, rocketed into stardom with the tracks Stupid Girl and Only Happy When It Rains as singles and smash hits for the crew. Their second album was also a chart topper, and they were able to secure their first two GRAMMYS from the record as well. Above all - the band has stayed together whenever they choose to release music, keeping with the same crew since the formation of the group back in the 90s. But - how did Garbage get their name?
As the story goes, while working on music in their home studio (Smart Studios - over in Madison, Wisconsin) back in the day, the crew had friends in the studio with them listening to the work they were making - and they were all living with each other and making music nonstop, too. One of the group's friends called their tracks “garbage”, and they decided to roll with it. They worked for months "without coming up with anything cool... and when you least expect it, it all falls into place,” Butch Vig, band percussionist wrote. "I hope that all this garbage will become something beautiful,” and my god - it sure did!
Well - are you ready? Are you excited?! Good - we were hoping for that. Grab your tickets ASAP, and let’s get ready to get trashy, Seattle!
