Paramount Theatre
Punk rock's not dead, and Amyl and The Sniffers are coming all the way from the land down under to Seattle to prove this! The group is known equally for its tracks that evoke traditional 70s punk rock sounds, as well as their shenanigans on stage. Their takeover of the Paramount Theater in Seattle on Thursday March 27th is going to be a site to behold for the reasons mentioned above. You just don't get a chance to see these types of performers who throw caution to the wind and love playing their tracks and the crowd all that often anymore.
Philly band Sheer Mag will be the opening act on this night. It's a nice combination that will grace the stage at the Paramount Theater. Sheer Mag are also known for their loud guitars and squeaky vocals. A full-on rock fest is headed to the Pacific Northwest on Thursday, March 27th!

Saying that an Amyl and The Sniffers show provides some controlled chaos is an outright lie! There's no real control by anyone on stage. That's certainly part of the fun and the overall experience. What would you expect from a band that was named after a type of recreational drug? On the musical level, what you can expect are loud guitars and Amy or "Amyl" with some screams that are reminiscent of British punk rock, not only from the 70s but even through the 90s. The band does lean into the old-school look, and that's evident in Amy's outfits out on stage, and of course, the rest of the band follows suit. There could be a point during this Thursday, March 27th, night in Seattle when the band comes out shirtless and just starts rocking out!
One of the labels that Amyl and The Sniffers have been tagged with is a "pub rock" band. You can imagine why they've been considered part of this subgenre. It goes back to the loud guitars, particularly in their flagship track, "Hertz."
