Back To The Future – Theatrical Production at Paramount Theatre Seattle

Transporting viewers straight back to the 20th century, precisely in the 50s and 80s, The musical, Back To The Future, features the beloved story from the previous 1980s movie and was also adapted for the stage by the film’s originators, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. The high-activity and vividly bright show tells the story of Marty McFly, an easygoing high school kid.

The story starts as Marty McFly lives a typical day in a young adult's lifestyle, slacking around (especially in their school band) and spending time with his significant other, while still utterly nosy of the things he finds. His curiosity ends up as his distinct burden, as upon meeting Doc Brown on a fateful day, Brown proclaims that has succeeded in making his transtemporal device (which is actually the DeLorean) operate. A sudden emergency that takes place during their meeting pressures Marty to accidentally turn on the DeLorean, shocking him and moving him away in time to 1955. Initially disoriented with the different changes he starts seeing, Marty McFly soon surmises that to return to the right place and time, he should also redirect the past, and his mother and father who have yet to fall in love, back to the right track.

Heavily inspired by the movie it was based on, each scene location of the legendary show is represented as respect and acknowledgment of the locations from the movie, incorporating Hill Valley High School, Doc’s lab, the McFly’s house, and several sets in the Hill Valley neighborhood. Both the stage and costume creations also give reverence to both the 1950s and 1980s. Back To The Future The Musical's transfer to the West End platform allowed it to showcase one of the premier franchises that has been produced, while applying changes and modernization made achievable in a live theater production.

Even if the show brings its viewers on a nostalgic trip back to the 50s and 80s, the venue for this show is as modern as it can be.
