Do you want to watch the musical comedy that Vogue Magazine calls filthy and offensive and sweet? Are you ready to go to the show that Ben Brantley of the New York Times compares favorably to Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I. Then now is the moment to get tickets to watch Book of Mormon co-written by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The story brings audiences into the world of two Latter-Day Saints missionaries who are trying to preach their faith to a remote Ugandan village only to come across the more pressing issues of HIV/AIDS, famine, and oppression from the village warlords. The story shows a lot of heart, even as it pokes fun of the Latter-Day Saints church and the feel-good formula of inspirational musicals that has charmed audiences since it's first run in 2011. If you want to see the show, make sure you click the Buy Tickets button below to catch Book of Mormon on Wednesday 10th January 2024 at the breathtaking Paramount Theatre!

The plot chronicles the tale of two Mormon missionaries as they work to share their faith with the inhabitants of a small Ugandan community. Developed by the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, in addition to the record-breaking Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony recipient, Robert Lopez, the musical score is renowned for earning its very own Tony Award.
In reaction to pleas from actors to reassess the portrayal of black characters in light of issues about racial equality, a few lyrics and aspects of the storyline were somewhat adjusted back in 2021. Nevertheless, the concepts of friendship, faith, and hope, which transcend all faiths, persist the same throughout the play.
In their review, The New York Daily News describes how The Book of Mormon is a performance where you often find yourself laughing one minute and subsequently uncover your mouth agape the following, eventually tearing up and, eventually, rooting for the lead singers. Writers Stone and Parker are well-known for their "take-no-prisoners, nothing-is-sacred technique to humor."
Moreover, Lopez exemplifies a skill for thumbing his nose at current standards. As all three share credit for the book, songs, and words, this production can be described as "foolish, heartfelt, and exceptionally crude, while the score continually bright and intelligent keeps the acts in this Book turning seamlessly.”
