Jinkx Monsoon at Paramount Theatre Seattle

Aside from just winning RuPual’s All Stars Season 7, Jinkx Monsoon is also fresh from completing their Broadway gig reprising the role of Mama Morton in the award-winning production of Chicago. The singer, actor, and comedian have been an active member of the theater circuit since 2010. They first performed as the lead character in Red Ranger Came Calling at the Book-It Repertory Theatre. The same year, they took on the role of Alice in the production of Henry V. In their 13-year theater career, Monsoon has also starred in Seattle-based productions of Rent, Spring Awakening, Hairspray, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Earlier this year, they starred in their first Broadway production of Chicago and played the role of Mama Morton.

While they maintain their budding theater career, Jinkx Monsoon has also performed as a drag queen. In 2013, they joined and won RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5. The same year, Monsoon also made an appearance in RuPaul’s Untacked. After their phenomenal win, Monsoon continued to appear on the show as a guest. In 2015, they appeared on Season 7’s “Countdown to the Crown,” Season 10’s, “10s Across the Board,” and Season 11’s “Snatch Game at Sea.” Besides theater and drag, Monsoon made cameos in several TV series, such as Blue Bloods, Bravest Warriors, Blame the Hero, and AJ and the Queen. Monsoon has also appeared on The View, Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS Mornings, and Good Morning America.

Jinkx Monsoon has released two full studio albums, The Inevitable Album and The Ginger Snapped. Both albums received wide critical acclaim and contained tracks written by B52’s singer Fred Schneider.
